I’m not just a hairstylist — I’m a hair coach, an educator, and a purpose-driven leader in the beauty industry.

My journey began at just 10 years old when I braided my own hair for my 6th grade graduation. Looking back, those braids were far from perfect — but they sparked something in me that would change my life forever. By my teenage years, I was deep into the world of hair, teaching myself everything from micro braids (yes, micro!) to sew-ins. I created a personal rule early on: if I couldn’t master it on myself, I wouldn’t offer it to others. That standard pushed me to practice relentlessly — and that discipline became the foundation of my career.

I started taking cosmetology courses in high school through dual enrollment, even though my original plan was to become a high school English teacher (and whew, I’m glad I pivoted!). I graduated in 2014 with my Associate Degree from Saint Paul College, and after a few years in corporate America, I made the bold decision to step into my purpose and become a full-time stylist.

Since then, I’ve become a licensed cosmetology instructor, launched The Curl District Hair Salon — a luxury space in Saint Paul dedicated to elevating natural hair and desegregating the beauty industry — and created The Beauty and Barber Coalition, a platform uniting professionals across the industry. I’ve also created e-books to share my knowledge and am preparing to teach courses to further empower beauty professionals.

With over 15 years of experience, I now coach other beauty professionals, host events, and help women walk boldly in purpose — both inside and outside the salon.
